About

I've been covering politics and policy in our nation’s capitol since 2004, with a break from 2005 to 2007 to complete my MPhil in political science at the University of Oxford. A California native, I have a BA from Stanford University, hopping between stints in New York City, San Francisco, South Africa, London and Washington, D.C. since.

I was a 2011 finalist for the Livingston Award, a national award for journalists under the age of 35, for my coverage of the State Department's challenges in taking over the mission in Iraq from the Pentagon. The Diplomatic Courier also named me one of their top 99 foreign policy leaders under the age of 33 the same year.

I've reported from London, Tokyo and Johannesburg as well as the States and my work has been published by Congressional Quarterly, Roll Call, Foreign Policy, The New Republic, Fortune, the Economist Intelligence Unit and Ms. Magazine.
